A familiar story, but different to others

I don’t have an agricultural tradition to carry on, but a family adventure to begin.
I didn’t inherit noble vineyards, but, before my grandfather Alfiero died, he invested in his homeland, around nearly 3 hectares of splendid, vibrant and promising San Gimignano land.

Since then, those who have been close to me have been involved in the project.

My father Mauro, the technician, helps me to carry out this ambitious sustainable type of cultivation. One of his first projects was the rainwater recovery system used for irrigation.
My mother Lucia, in addition to having an incredible assonance with my project and the place where it was born, helps me to control and optimize the administrative side of the business.
My brother, Jacopo, great at sailing the web, had to become my digital advisor.
And then there are my good friends, who at the end of each harvest say it will be their last, but then they always come back!

Where do I come from?

I was born on the longest day of the summer in 1992, and grew up in a very normal family in Tuscany. I won’t bore you with the details, but I do think that it’s a coincidence that being born on this day is a direct connection to my work which is based on sunlight.

What may interest you in is my degree in viticulture and oenology, from the University of Pisa. Also my work experience at the vineyards of the Barossa Valley in Australia during the 2015 harvest, and in that of Santa Cruz, Chile, during the 2016 harvest. Also I have my sommelier qualification. I also gained my experience as a professional oenologist and production manager, from 2015 until 2022, in the areas bewtween Tuscany and Piedmont, where I was involved with some of the most prestigious wineries in Bolgheri, Barbaresco and Montalcino. Then in 2022, I decided to devote my career to wine consultency accross Italy where I had the chance to discover a variety of wine-making traditions and methodology.

At the same time I also gave life to my venture of an organic micro farm, and PrimaLuce was born in the Santa Lucia, a hamlet of San Gimignano.

My future

My aim is to bring to light the hidden treasures of Tuscany
and to produce authentic wines from some of Tuscany’s white grape varieties giving these wines the prestige they deserve.
I want to enhance a unique terroir, that of Vernaccia di San Gimignano, through sustainable, circular, organic cultivation, and artisanal winemaking.

At the same time, I want to experiment and have fun, even though I have chosen a complicated and tiring passtime, as working with land is not easy, especially because it relies on nature twhich cannot be controlled. But simple things have always bored me. So, here I am, trying to fill in the gaps with really good things.
